Triangle home sales up 20% in 1st quarter

Triangle home sales increased 20 percent in the first quarter compared to the same period a year ago as the market continued to show signs of improvement heading into the spring selling season.

There were 3, 647 homes sold in Durham, Johnston, Orange and Wake counties during the first three months of the year, Triangle Multiple Listing Services data show. Showings increased 11 percent during the quarter while pending sales were up 22 percent.
