With the holiday season comes a glimmer of hope

Holiday lights on a house

Recent data from NAR tells us it’s still a great time to list your house. Inventory is lower than it was at this time last year, so your house should sell quickly and get multiple offers.

Meanwhile, home buyers have a glimmer of hope. Although US prices are still soaring at a record pace, the worst of the pandemic-era price surge looks to be over.

Still, the market is far from normal. Year-over-year price growth hovered between 3% and 4% before the pandemic. Even though home inflation has stalled, it’s still roughly five times higher than the pre-crisis norm.

While the supply of homes for sale has increased modestly since the spring, it remains well below pre-pandemic levels and the outlook offers no quick fixes for the shortage.

Now, more than ever, you need a real estate expert on your side. If you are feeling motivated to buy or sell, give me a call or send me a text and let’s get ready for a move in 2022: 919-291-5704
